Company History

Business Monitor International was founded in 1984 by Richard Londesborough and Jonathan Feroze, and was acquired by The Fitch Group in March 2014.

The Fitch Group is a global leader in financial information services with operations in more than 30 countries. In addition to Business Monitor, The Fitch Group includes: Fitch Ratings, a global leader in credit ratings and research; Fitch Solutions, a leading provider of credit market data, analytical tools and risk services; and Fitch Learning, a provider of learning and development solutions for the global financial services industry. Fitch Group is jointly owned by Paris-based Fimalac and New York-based Hearst Corporation. By becoming part of the globally recognised Fitch Group, Business Monitor will further strengthen and expand its client offering in information services.

Since June 2014 Business Monitor has been led by CEO Richard Hall, who has succeeded former co-CEOs Jonathan Feroze and Richard Londesborough, who are now Non-Executive Directors on the Fitch Information Services Board.
