Yenakiieve Iron And Steel Works Overhauls Basic Oxygen Furnace


News: Ukrainian mining and steel group Metinvest's subsidiary Yenakiieve Iron and Steel Works has carried out an overhaul of its oxygen furnace with a partial reconstruction of the gas offtake. The 160 tonne oxygen furnace was overhauled with the installation of a new furnace body and support ring. Yenakiieve Steel completed the work ahead of schedule in 38 days against the planned 45 days at an estimated cost of UAH32.45mn (USD2.7mn). The overhaul is expected to enhance efficiency and reliability, while reducing environmental impact.
